Beckford’s Tower And Museum

The 120ft neo-classical Italianate Tower was built in 1827 for William Beckford as a study retreat. Today it contains a museum collection with prints, paintings, objects and models illustrating Beckford’s life and interests both at Fonthill Abbey and in Bath. An easy climb to the Belvedere rewards visitors with fine views over the city and countryside and adjoining Victorian cemetery where William Beckford is buried.
