5 Bath Abbey

Beautiful Bath Abbey is situated at the heart of the city. Founded in 1499, it stands on the site of an earlier Norman Cathedral and the original Abbey Church built in the 8th century. Visitors enjoy our services, concerts and frequent exhibitions. You are welcome to admire the building, study the Abbey's story of faith, or simply spend time in quiet thought. Don’t miss the fully guided Tower Tour: stand on top of the Abbey’s famous vaulted ceiling, sit behind the clock face, get close to the Abbey bells and enjoy a bird’s eye view of the World Heritage City of Bath.
