30 Hanham Court

This unexpectedly rural Court House with 13th Century Church and Tithe Barn was part of a monastic foundation. At the end of a tiny lane among fields it is half way between the centres of Bristol and Bath. Here Julian and Isabel Bannerman, award winning garden designers to the Prince of Wales at Highgrove, have, over fifteen years, created a deeply romantic, highly scented garden. The formal part has luscious borders of old roses, tree peonies, lilies and fountains. The woodland garden has magnolias, ferns and tree ferns, stumpery, stream fed pools and a cascade with a 'Dancing Crown' fountain. Beyond this lies a miniature wild meadow parkland, a labyrinth and orchard, and, by the barn, a small vegetable and cutting garden.
